Community Clay Class

Monday’s

Do you like creating with others? Have you taken classes at Marin Pottery or a clay class elsewhere? Are you someone who thrives on schedules? Are you not quite ready to be a member at Marin Pottery? Do you find drop ins a little intimidating and not sure where to start? THIS CLASS IS FOR YOU! Community clay class has been designed for you to gain more practice, become more confident in clay, be in a community environment and use all of Marin Pottery’s tools and glazes.

The When:

July 25, August 1, 8, 15, 22, 29

Monday 6:30-8:30

The Why:

• community of potters

• practice to gain more skill

• supportive environment

• dedicated time to practice

The Who:

• Ages 16+

• some clay experience recommended

• this is not intended as a teacher directed class but instead a self directed time to gain skills and practice to become a better pottery and clay artist

The What:

• 2 hours in length

• 15 lbs of clay

• firing for 15 lbs of clay (additional clay available and can be ordered online, you must use Marin Pottery clay)

• a shelf to keep your in process work (items must fit on designated shelf)

• firing of work made during class (up to 15 lbs included in class fee, additional firing available, please visit our firing fee page for more info)

• Each potter will have their own set of tools to borrow during class

• Each potter will have a wheel of their own

• hand builders welcome!! We have a slab roller and lots of tools to work with

• please wear clothes that are ok to get dirty

• we are not requiring masks at this time
